MAC Lookup
Identify the manufacturer of any network device by its MAC address. Powered by the IEEE OUI database with real-time vendor details.
Paste any 12-character MAC address or partial prefix (e.g., AA:BB:CC).
Submit the MAC address, and wait a few moments while we retrieve the details.
Get the registered MAC address vendor, OUI assignment block, and device type instantly.
The first six characters of every MAC address form the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI). This prefix is assigned by the IEEE to hardware manufacturers worldwide. An OUI lookup decodes that sequence so you can trace equipment back to its source, verify authenticity, and separate corporate assets from personal or rogue devices.
Spot unknown or MAC-spoofed devices on your network before they become a risk.
Maintain accurate inventory logs with reliable MAC address vendor mapping.
Confirm device origins, validate DHCP assignments, and resolve IP/MAC conflicts without command-line overhead.
A MAC address may not be found in the IEEE database for several reasons: it could be a spoofed MAC address (manually changed by software), a virtual MAC address (as used by Virtual Machine Hypervisors), or a randomized MAC address (used by iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS for privacy).
It may also originate from a defunct or unregistered vendor, or be a special-purpose or reserved MAC such as multicast (01:00:5E), broadcast (FF:FF:FF), or IPv6 (33:33:00). Finally, it could be a locally administered address — if the second bit of the first byte equals 1 (i.e. the second hex character is 2, 3, 6, 7, A, B, E, or F), it will not appear in the IEEE database.
